Michael Cotten // The University of Kentucky Trombone Octet – “With Sword and Crown”
About “With Sword and Crown”:
An original composition by a University of Kentucky School of Music undergraduate, this piece takes its inspiration from Tchaikovsky’s famous “fate motive”. The strong theme intertwines with aspects of
minimalism and even cinematic soundtrack styles to create a driving rhythm full of energy and emotion that is carried throughout the piece.
